A fatal collision occurred late on July 5 in Croydon, claiming one life and leaving two others injured. The incident took place on Beddington Farm Road, behind the Valley Retail Park, at approximately 10:45 pm.
Emergency Response and Casualties
London Ambulance Service (LAS) confirmed that one person was pronounced dead at the scene. The age and gender of the deceased have not yet been released. Two other individuals were transported to hospital; their conditions remain unknown.
An LAS spokesperson stated: "We sent resources to the scene including ambulance crews, paramedics in fast response cars, an advanced paramedic and an incident response officer. We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance. We treated three people. We took two patients to hospital but sadly, despite the best efforts of our crews, another patient was pronounced dead at the scene."
Road Closure and Diversions
Beddington Farm Road was closed in both directions overnight between Purley Way and the junction for VUE Cinema. The road has since reopened. Bus route 463 was rerouted away from the area during the closure.
Police Investigation
The Metropolitan Police has been contacted for further details regarding the crash. No further information has been released at this time.
