British YouTuber and rapper Yung Filly, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, has appeared in a Western Australian court facing multiple charges of sexual assault. The 30-year-old pleaded not guilty to six counts of sexually penetrating a 20-year-old woman without consent in a Perth hotel room in September 2024. He also denies impeding the woman's breathing by applying pressure to her neck and three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm.
Details of the alleged assault
Prosecutor Danielle Clarke told the District Court of Western Australia on Monday that the woman initially engaged in consensual sex with Barrientos in his room at the Intercontinental Hotel. However, the situation escalated when the rapper allegedly became violent, biting and slapping the woman before raping her multiple times. "What should have been an exciting night out meeting her celebrity crush Yung Filly was fun until it wasn't," Clarke said during her opening remarks.
The woman reportedly suffered extensive injuries, including bruising to her face and neck and bite wounds on her right breast. The court heard that she was a fan of Yung Filly and had attended his gig at a bar in Perth's northern suburbs. After the performance, she was invited into a VIP area where she met the musician. Barrientos allegedly told her, "You're coming home with me tonight," and pushed his hand down the back of her pants.
Sequence of events
The pair left the venue around 3am with the rapper's all-male entourage. The woman believed she was being taken to an after-party, Clarke said, but instead they went to Yung Filly's hotel. One of his minders took her phone, and the performer led her to room 217. During sex, Barrientos allegedly bit the woman's neck and breast numerous times. "The bites hurt and [the woman] said ouch and asked the accused to be gentle," Clarke said. Barrientos allegedly told her to stop talking and bit her harder before slapping her.
Prosecutors say Barrientos then told the woman to say "I'm Filly's dirty whore," but she refused. At this point, the woman began to fear for her safety and consent was withdrawn. "She didn't know how to get herself out of the situation and decided to do what the accused wanted," Clarke said. Barrientos allegedly raped her multiple times before ordering a Wagyu burger via room service.
Aftermath and trial
As the woman prepared to leave, one of Barrientos's minders entered the room, and she heard the performer say she was not "good in bed." Barrientos allegedly grabbed her breasts and asked the minder, "How good are her boobs?" The trial continues.
