British YouTuber and rapper Yung Filly, whose real name is Andrés Felipe Valencia Barrientos, has described the night he met a 20-year-old fan in an Australian nightclub before allegedly raping her in a Perth hotel room. The 30-year-old performer is on trial at the West Australian district court, facing six charges of sexually penetrating the woman without consent, along with charges of impeding her breathing by applying pressure to her neck and three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm. He denies all charges.
Meeting at Bar1 Nightclub
Barrientos testified that he met the woman at Bar1 nightclub after his performance on September 28, 2024. “I fancied her and we got chatting,” he told the court. “The vibes were good, and she had a really good energy about her.” He said he asked her to come back to his hotel room while they were in the VIP area, and they later left in a minivan with his entourage, heading to the Intercontinental hotel in Perth’s central business district.
Consensual Sex Alleged
Barrientos claimed the pair had consensual sex in his hotel room. “The sex was great,” he said from the witness box. When asked by his barrister to describe it, he said there was “grunting and moaning in a good way.” He denied choking or slapping the woman, as alleged by the prosecution, but admitted to biting her numerous times. “In England we would call it a love bite. My mouth on her skin; it involves sucking [and] my teeth were involved to some extent,” he explained.
Prosecution's Evidence
The jury has been shown images of the woman’s alleged injuries, including deep bruising and bite marks on her face and neck. Under cross-examination by prosecutor Danielle Clarke, Barrientos said he was not surprised the woman returned to his hotel. “I could just tell she was into me,” he stated. He agreed that when he asked her to leave the club, he did not mention sex, but he believed they would engage in it. He also said he initially grabbed her hand as they left around 3:30 a.m. but let go, explaining, “I quickly realised I didn’t want to be seen on socials.”
Denials of Specific Acts
The woman previously told the court that Barrientos put his hands down her pants and touched her breast while at the club. The rapper denied this, stating, “It didn’t happen. I recall putting my hand on her waist.” He also denied giving her tequila shots, contradicting her testimony, and claimed the shots were handed out by the bar manager.
CCTV Evidence
CCTV footage from the nightclub and hotel was played in court. It showed Barrientos and others getting into a white minivan, with the woman following shortly after. She paused at the van door before stepping in. “All I remember is me leaving in front of her … and before I know it she was in the vehicle,” Barrientos said. He did not recall whether they talked during the drive. Hotel CCTV showed him striding ahead of his entourage and the woman, with the group entering a lift. “The vibes were good; we walked through the concierge and got into the lift … and I went into my room with [the woman],” he said. Barrientos agreed that the woman’s phone was taken from her, as she alleged, stating it was “standard practice for someone in the limelight to protect privacy.” The trial continues.
