Teen siblings missing from Hayes after taking family car

Two teenage siblings from Hayes have been missing since Monday, August 17, after taking a family member's car in the early hours of the morning, the Metropolitan Police has confirmed.

Mukarma, 16, and Muhammed, 14, were reported missing at 9:28 on Monday morning after their parents discovered them absent from their beds. The family vehicle, a Toyota Prius with registration KR10 NTF, was also reported missing to police officers that same day.

Descriptions of the missing teenagers

Mukarma is described as Asian, 5'3" tall, with a slim build and long, black, wavy hair that is often in braids. She has a dimple on one side of her face and may possibly be wearing a Hijab.

Muhammed is described as Asian, 5'9" tall, with a slim build and shoulder-length black hair. He often wears glasses.

Police believe the children took the Toyota Prius in the early hours of Monday morning. An ANPR camera identified the vehicle on the A40 Oxford Road in Gerrards Cross, travelling westbound towards Beaconsfield.

Police appeal for information

Detective Sergeant Gary Walker, who is leading the investigation, said: “We are increasingly concerned for the welfare of Mukarma and Muhammed due to their ages, the length of time they have been missing and the belief that they may be driving a car without a license.

“It is now a critical time in our investigation. By now the children, who are extremely vulnerable, could be anywhere in the country, so we are appealing to public to come forward with any information or sightings. We are particularly keen to here from anyone who may have offered them assistance or accommodation in recent days. Any piece of information, no matter how small, could be crucial to our investigation.”

How to report a sighting

Anyone who sees Mukarma or Muhammed is asked to call 999 immediately, quoting reference CAD 2117/17AUG. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
