Teen arrested for rape on Parkland Walk in Haringey

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of raping a woman on a popular walking route in North London. The Metropolitan Police confirmed the alleged incident took place on Parkland Walk, which runs between Finsbury Park and Highgate, at around 10:30pm on Tuesday, June 30.

Investigation and Custody

The teenager is currently being held in custody, the force stated in a morning announcement. Detective Inspector Warren Ingrey, leading the investigation, said: "We are aware of the concern that the community will have following this incident. Police patrols have been increased in the area and anyone with concerns is asked to speak to officers." He added: "We would also encourage any witnesses or anyone with information about what happened to please come forward as soon as possible."

Police Response and Victim Support

Officers attended the walkway alongside the London Ambulance Service and established a cordon between Stanhope Road and Northwood Road. The woman who made the report is being supported by specialist staff, the Met added. Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting CAD9394/30JUN26. Information can also be given to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
