Adam Peaty's Family Accuses Him of 'Cashing In' on Ramsay Name After Wedding Feud
Peaty Accused of Cashing In on Ramsay Name

The ongoing feud between Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty and his estranged family has intensified, with relatives accusing him of "cashing in" on the Ramsay name. Peaty, 31, married Gordon Ramsay's daughter Holly, 26, on December 27 in a lavish ceremony at Bath Abbey. The guest list included celebrities like the Beckhams, but Peaty's family was notably uninvited amid rising tensions.

Family Accusations

His mother Caroline, 60, expressed heartbreak over the rift, stating the couple had "cut my heart out." Now, a family insider claims Peaty is exploiting his father-in-law's fame after changing his surname to Ramsay-Peaty. "As much as Adam wants to be a Ramsay, he is not. He is a Peaty," the source told the Daily Mail. "Adam has financial control and is cashing in on the Ramsay name because it opens doors."

Peaty is set to compete for Team England in the Commonwealth Games this summer under his new double-barreled name. The insider added, "He is playing a role. Adam may be rich but we have something that he hasn’t and that is brains, loyalty, integrity and family."

Sister's Reconciliation

In March, his sister Bethany, 32, revealed she reconciled with their mother after being the only family member to attend the wedding. She served as one of Holly's three bridesmaids, facing accusations of "selling her soul" to support Adam. Bethany said she was "caught in the middle" and made amends with Caroline for the sake of her children. The source added, "Money makes for a cold bedfellow. It can’t hold you tight when things go wrong or when you have a bad day. When you live to be famous, you aren’t living, you are playing a role. Fame is but fleeting but family is forever."

Ramsay Family's Response

Since the feud, Peaty has been embraced by the Ramsays, reportedly calling Gordon and his wife Tana "mum and dad." Gordon claimed the fallout was "self-inflicted" by the Peaty family, denying any "rudeness" or "ignorance" toward them. He insisted Caroline and Mark were welcomed and treated like royalty at the engagement party. "So, to get that barrage of press was very hurtful. Tana took it very seriously," he said.

Peaty urged people to remember "two sides to every story" but remained quiet on details. Tana shared with Grazia that she told Peaty's mother, "My God, you’ve got the most amazing son. I couldn’t think of anyone that is more perfect for Holly." Gordon expressed willingness to visit Nottingham to "draw a line in the sand" but followed Adam's wishes. "There’s stuff they need to sort out as parents. That’s nothing to do with Tana and me. But we are very mindful; we want to move on and allow Holly and Adam to continue starting their lives together," he added.

Gordon also urged the family to show respect for Peaty, calling him an "incredible young man." The feud continues as both sides remain at odds over the swimmer's new life and name change.
