Kim Tate (Claire King) faces a crisis at Home Farm in Emmerdale after discovering a break-in. With no other option, she enlists the help of Ross Barton (Michael Parr), her Director of Operations. Despite his title, Ross is more adept at raiding the fridge than solving crimes, but Kim has no choice while former SAS member Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) is away.
Ross bungles the investigation
Ross arrives late at Home Farm, explaining he fell back asleep after Kim's early morning call. Kim hands him a list of suspects and instructs him to investigate. Ross's first target is Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb), who quickly boots him out after he accuses her. Undeterred, Ross next accuses Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley), ignoring that Robert was recently hit by a runaway trailer and is in no state to commit a crime. Robert's lover, Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller), takes offense and punches Ross. Serena Sugden (Casey Al-Shaqsy) intervenes to prevent further violence, and later works on Robert and Aaron to let her stay by revealing the full story about John.
Aaron remains wary
Aaron is still suspicious of Serena but stops beating up Ross. Later in the week, Kim realizes the thief stole a USB drive, indicating the motive is information, not money. The identity of the culprit remains unknown.
