EastEnders' teenage incel Joel Marshall (Max Murray) faces a revenge plot from Albert Square teens that turns serious when police are called. Joel, released from prison, is unwelcome after his sex crimes against Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James).
Joel's Return Causes Tension
Step-mum Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig) is horrified by Joel's return, and teens Avani, Nugget Gulati (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury), and Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) confront him at school. Joel, realizing no one wants him, books a one-way train ticket but is offered an olive branch by Lily Slater (Lillia Turner) after he helps Janet Mitchell (Grace).
Revenge Plot Unfolds
Joel opens up to Lily about his struggles in the young offenders facility, but Jean Slater (Gillian Wright), Amy, and Avani interrupt. Ross Marshall (Alex Walkinshaw) convinces Joel to stay, prompting Amy and Avani to plan revenge. They invite Joel to a park celebration for the end of the school year, pretending to build bridges.
Attack and Police Response
At the park, Avani, Lily, Amy, Nugget, Denzel Danes (Jaden Luke Ladega), Barney Mitchell (Lewis Bridgeman), and Ricky Branning (Frankie Day) lock Joel to a fence and soak him in beer while filming. Local copper Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) receives a call that Joel has been attacked, escalating the situation.
