The week of July 27 sees Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) finally face his day in court on EastEnders, with Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) struggling with guilt over her son Jordan's accident. She agrees to help Ian, but a delay on her way to court puts his fate in jeopardy.
Ian Beale's court day
On Monday, July 27, Ian's lawyer arrives with good news, prompting Ian to defy his bail conditions and seek out Chelsea. Initially unwilling to listen, Chelsea later crumbles under guilt and promises to help. However, when Chelsea and Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) are delayed on their way to court, Ian nervously awaits her appearance. Meanwhile, a face from George Knight's (Colin Salmon) past emerges with difficult questions about his decision to not allow Eddie Knight to be buried alongside Gloria Knight.
Gray Atkins' new plot
On Tuesday, July 28, Chelsea relays her guilt over Jordan's accident to Sheila, who reports to Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith) in prison. His reaction unsettles her. Later, a prison commotion inspires Gray, who begins to form a new scheme. Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) tries to support George as tensions with Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) grow, but a misunderstanding leads to a heated exchange. Elsewhere, Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) and Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) notice Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) on a lunch date with Clive Masters (Jason Durr), while Nicola clashes with Suki and Eve Panesar-Unwin (Balvinder Sopal and Heather Peace).
George's guilt deepens
On Wednesday, July 29, George visits Gloria's grave, consumed by guilt. Eve and Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) find him alone and drunk on a bench, leading to a deep conversation. Linda rallies residents to support her bid to save the community centre, amid teasing about her dalliance with Clive. She later agrees to a second date, but Sharon is stunned by a passing comment from Elaine. Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) tries to smooth tensions between Nicola and George, but she wants no part. Chelsea's behavior causes Sheila concern.
Chelsea's confession
On Thursday, July 30, Chelsea realizes she must let Sheila see Jordan before she admits her role in the accident, disgusted by Denise Fox (Diane Parish). She later tells Jordan the truth about Sheila and allows them to spend time together, despite the Fox-Truemans' concern. Nicola drafts Harry Mitchell (Elijah Holloway) to help deal with George. As she tries to understand what's eating George, they open up and share an emotional moment. Meanwhile, rattled by Elaine's comment, Sharon heads to Phil for answers.
