Detectives have launched a desperate manhunt after releasing chilling CCTV footage showing two suspects wanted for a fatal arson attack that claimed the life of a 46-year-old man in Rainham.
The horrifying incident, which police are treating as murder, occurred when the perpetrators allegedly launched an industrial-sized firework directly at the victim's home on Upminster Road North in the early hours of October 28th.
A Devastating Attack
The Metropolitan Police revealed that the large firework was deliberately fired at the property, causing significant damage and trapping 46-year-old Lee Harrison inside the blazing building. Despite the efforts of emergency services, Mr Harrison was pronounced dead at the scene.
In an emotional tribute, his grieving family described him as "a loving father, son, brother and uncle who would do anything for anyone." They added: "Our family is broken and will never be the same without him."
The Hunt Intensifies
Investigators have now released crucial CCTV footage showing two individuals they urgently wish to identify and speak with. The footage captures the suspects in the area around the time of the deadly attack.
Detective Chief Inspector Kate Kieran, leading the investigation, stated: "This was a deliberate and reckless attack which has had tragic consequences." She emphasized that the use of such a dangerous firework in a residential area demonstrated "a complete disregard for human life."

The quiet Rainham neighbourhood has been left reeling from the brutal nature of the attack. Residents expressed their shock that such violence could occur in their community, with many describing the incident as "utterly terrifying."
Police are urging anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to come forward immediately. They're particularly interested in speaking to anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the Upminster Road North area between midnight and 1:30 AM on October 28th.
