A 28-year-old man has been sectioned under the Mental Health Act following a stabbing in Haringey that left a woman in her 20s with knife wounds. Emergency services, including police, paramedics, and London's air ambulance, responded to the incident on Vincent Road in the Wood Green area shortly after 3:05 p.m. on May 19.

Victim Hospitalized, Suspect Arrested

The victim, aged in her 20s, suffered suspected knife injuries and was taken to hospital by paramedics. The Metropolitan Police confirmed that her injuries are not life-threatening or life-changing. The suspect, who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder near the scene, was also taken to hospital and remains there under the Mental Health Act.

Police Investigation Ongoing

Police believe the two individuals are known to each other and that the stabbing was an isolated incident. Enquiries are ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward. A London Ambulance Service spokesperson stated: "We were called at 3:10 p.m. on Tuesday 19 May to reports of a stabbing on Moselle Avenue, Wood Green. We sent resources to the scene including ambulance crews, an advanced paramedic, an incident response officer, and dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance. We treated two patients at the scene and took them to hospital."

The incident occurred less than 12 hours after a separate stabbing on Wood Green High Road, where a man in his 20s was knifed. A 37-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
