Katie Price's husband Lee Andrews reportedly still in Dubai prison
Katie Price's husband Lee Andrews reportedly still in Dubai prison

Lee Andrews, the husband of Katie Price, is reportedly still incarcerated in Dubai's Al Awir prison, contradicting earlier reports from last month that he had been released. The 43-year-old businessman was said to have walked free in July following his second stint in the prison, after an alleged arrest over unpaid debts. However, his continued absence from social media—despite his usual online activity—sparked speculation about his actual whereabouts.

Now, sources have claimed that Andrews never actually left jail. Instead, he has reportedly spent weeks telling fellow inmates that his release is imminent. According to The Sun, Andrews has repeatedly insisted that his exit paperwork is 'sorted', but each week passes with him still behind bars. His assurances are said to be wearing thin, with inmates reportedly becoming 'fed up with his constant lies'.

Arrest and Efforts to Secure Release

Andrews was taken by police to Lahab police station in the Dubai desert on July 10. He was reportedly attempting to raise £120,000 to settle outstanding debts and secure his release. It is understood that he needs to find this money before he can leave prison and potentially return to the UK. His father, Peter, was also reportedly detained over separate fraud allegations and was said to have ended up in the same prison as his son. The pair are thought to have seen one another while behind bars, although Peter has since allegedly been released.

Andrews has maintained his innocence over the allegations against him. A source previously told the Daily Mail: 'Both Lee and his dad are now behind bars, in the same prison. Lee maintains his innocence, and is hoping to pay off his outstanding debts and get out of that hell hole as quickly as possible. He is trying to raise the collateral to get him out of the country, and return to the UK where he hopes to start his life afresh.'

Katie Price's Public Stance

While questions continue to swirl around her husband's situation, Katie Price, 48, has given a very public indication that she may still be standing by him. The former glamour model was pictured wearing her wedding ring again in an Instagram selfie on Monday. This display comes after reports suggested the mum-of-five had reached 'the end of her tether' with the drama surrounding her husband. Friends were said to have been urging Katie to walk away from the relationship, with a source previously claiming she was 'furious' over the situation.

They said: 'Whether poor Katie will be there to greet him on the other side remains to be seen. Right now she is furious with it all, and fed up with all the drama and white noise her husband is bringing. Friends are urging her to leave him.' However, putting her wedding ring back on appears to suggest she isn't ready to call time on the marriage just yet.

Katie has previously broken her silence over the allegations surrounding her husband, making it clear she wanted answers about claims involving people who say they have been wronged by him. Speaking on her podcast, she said she intended to have producer Ben interview Lee and question him about the controversy. 'In fact, I'm going to get Ben to interview him and Ben is going to delve in deep and I want to hear everything and it's too much and I don't like people hurting people,' she said. 'That's all I'm saying on it, I've not put anything up online, so you've heard it here for the first time.'

Background of Allegations

In a June interview with The Sun, the reality TV star explained that she's had a 'tough few weeks', having liaised with authorities in the UAE to try and trace Lee before it came to light that he was behind bars. 'But I've still stayed strong through it all, and I have a smile on my face.'

Andrews has faced a series of allegations since marrying Price. He presented himself as the CEO of Aura Group Future Urban Travel 2027 and an investor in 'SpaceX Hybrid Fitness', but there appeared to be little evidence of his businesses operating as described, and several celebrity photos were later alleged to have been created using AI. He was also banned from leaving Dubai due to an alleged fraud case involving a £200,000 mortgage taken out in his ex-girlfriend's name. Additionally, he has been accused of scamming women, faking a kidnapping, and teasing a fake pregnancy with Price. Court documents revealed two outstanding legal cases against him, including an alleged £54,000 debt linked to a rental car company and a separate claim for approximately £15,000 in unpaid legal fees.

Despite the ongoing turmoil, Katie has continued to enjoy herself, recently holidaying in Ibiza with friend Lou Roy and Wayne Lineker, Gary Lineker's brother. The trio posted suggestive snaps and videos, including a recreation of a scene from the film White Chicks. Katie has acknowledged the criticism, saying: 'I know people have been calling me stupid. I see all the trolling; I hear it. I am not stupid.' She added that she feels 'protected' against Lee's potential scams, due to the 'nation looking out for [her]'. She stated: 'I'm not a mug, and when I finally see Lee, I am going to question him. And if the answers I get are not right, that will be it: I'll be done. That's it. And I'll just get on with my life… and not find a man on Instagram and message him.'
