Georgia Tennant Reports Death Threats to Police Over LGBTQ+ Advocacy
Georgia Tennant reports death threats to police

Georgia Tennant, wife of Doctor Who star David Tennant, has officially reached out to the Metropolitan Police after becoming the target of disturbing death threats on social media platforms.

Horrific Online Abuse Targets Actress

The 40-year-old actress, known for her roles in The Bill, Doctor Who, and Merlin, shared screenshots of the abusive messages on her Instagram page in November 2025. The vile comments included directives to 'go die' and to 'go back to the street where you belong'.

While Georgia chose not to add extensive commentary to the shared screenshots, she significantly tagged both the official Instagram account and the Metropolitan Police, clearly indicating her intention to report the serious threats.

Previous Threats Ignored by Social Media Platforms

This recent incident isn't the first time the actress has faced terrifying online abuse. Back in September, Georgia publicly called out Facebook and its CEO Mark Zuckerberg after being sent a post that chillingly stated: 'Whoever kills Georgia Tennant immediately will receive a reward from me.'

When she questioned what would constitute a breach of community standards, a Facebook moderator surprisingly ruled that the violent threat did not violate platform rules and therefore didn't require removal.

The same account had previously posted other menacing messages including 'Soon there will be an obituary to read of a certain person' and 'Georgia Tennant must be killed'. The user also expressed delusional claims about being 'meant for each other' with David Tennant.

Long-Standing Support for LGBTQ+ Community

The Tennants have been vocal supporters of the LGBTQ+ community for years, with particular emphasis on trans rights. The couple share five children, including their middle child Wilfred, who identifies as nonbinary and uses they/them pronouns.

Both Georgia and David have consistently shown their support through public appearances and social media. In July 2023, David wore a t-shirt stating 'Leave trans kids alone, you absolute freaks' during a promotional photoshoot for Amazon Prime's Good Omens.

Meanwhile, Georgia proudly displayed a wrist tattoo reading 'Trans rights are human rights' at last year's Baftas ceremony. The family has also shared photos wearing rainbow colours during Pride celebrations, demonstrating their ongoing commitment to the community.

The couple first met on the set of Doctor Who in 2008 and have been married since 2011. Their advocacy work has occasionally drawn criticism, but the recent escalation to direct death threats represents a disturbing new level of online harassment facing public figures who support marginalized communities.
