Emmerdale: Kyle grabs gun in emotional spiral

Kyle Winchester (Huey Quinn) reached a new low in Emmerdale on July 3, grabbing a gun at Home Farm after discovering that Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) killed his mother. The episode, available on ITVX and YouTube, shows the young boy unable to cope with his emotions, leading to a dangerous confrontation.

Kyle's discovery and the gun incident

Earlier, Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) learned that Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) had given Kyle a watch belonging to Graham. Cain marched to Home Farm to confront Graham, who explained he noticed Kyle struggling and wanted to help. Cain failed to understand Kyle's comments about Graham's support and forbade him from seeing Graham. He also pointed out that Graham protects Joe Tate, the man who killed Kyle's mother.

In today's episode, Kyle burst into Home Farm seeking answers from Joe. He picked up a gun resting against a cabinet. Graham returned and took the gun from Kyle, diffusing the situation. Overwhelmed, Kyle returned to the Dingle home in tears, hugging Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) and refusing to reveal what happened.

Cain's reaction and Graham's dilemma

When Sam Dingle (James Hooton) arrived and shared that Joe and Kim Tate's (Claire King) clay pigeon shooting had been cancelled, Cain wondered if Kyle was involved. At Home Farm, Cain confronted Graham in front of Kim and Joe. After Cain left, Joe told Graham he was always asking for trouble by looking out for Kyle and needed to pick a side.

Graham's intentions were to help Kyle, but he failed to consider that Cain never reacts calmly. Graham has agreed to stay away, but Kyle has expressed appreciation for Graham's advice. Cain's words might have stopped Kyle years ago, but now Kyle is old enough to defy his father. The question remains: what will Kyle do next?
