Emmerdale fans have sparked a new theory that DS Thea Ramsden (Chelsea Edge) is actually Jean Tate, the daughter of Zoe Tate, as the detective's mysterious agenda against Kim Tate (Claire King) unfolds. The speculation comes just days after Thea arrived in the village to investigate the death of Dr Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker), and her recent interactions have left viewers convinced there's a deeper connection to the Tate family.
Thea's Favour to Serena
During her questioning of Serena Sugden (Casey Al-Shaqsy), fans noticed an unusual familiarity between the two characters, which was confirmed in a recent episode when they shared a hug. Casey Al-Shaqsy explained their dynamic: 'They are very, very close friends. Serena’s sort of journey into the village was to see her family. She does want to get closer with her family. But she’s mentioned to her best mate, “I’m going to Emmerdale”. And she’s gone “I need you to do me a favour”.'
The favour Thea asked of Serena has involved breaking into Home Farm multiple times, and it has now been revealed that Thea is searching for something that could bring Kim Tate down. Interestingly, after Thea interacted with Joe Tate (Ned Porteous), she made it clear that she doesn’t think he is the 'devil' – she reserves that label for Kim. This focused animosity has led fans to believe that Thea has a personal vendetta against Kim, and many are now convinced that she is Jean Tate, Zoe's daughter.
