Kate Middleton's 2025 Christmas Carol Service Celebrates Love
Kate Middleton's 2025 Christmas Carol Service Announced

Kensington Palace has announced that Catherine, Princess of Wales, will host her cherished annual Christmas carol service in a few weeks' time, with a poignant theme celebrating the many forms of love.

A Celebration of Love and Community

The fifth annual Together at Christmas event is scheduled for December 5 at the iconic Westminster Abbey in London. This year's service will focus on honouring 'love in all its forms', from familial bonds and friendships to community spirit and powerful connections with strangers.

In an official statement, the Palace elaborated: "In a world that can often feel fragmented and disconnected, love is the force that reconnects us all – spanning generations, communities, cultures and faiths." The event, which receives backing from The Royal Foundation, will also powerfully emphasise the 'power of togetherness' and the transformative impact of compassion.

Star-Studded Guest List and Performances

The congregation of 1,600 people will be treated to a blend of traditional and modern elements. The service will feature a lineup of prominent figures, including readings from Academy Award-winner Kate Winslet, Ted Lasso star Hannah Waddingham, and acclaimed actor Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Musical performances will be led by Dan Smith, the lead singer of the band Bastille. The world-renowned Westminster Abbey choir will also perform, singing some of the nation's most beloved carols.

The guest list is specially curated, filled with individuals from across the UK who have dedicated their time to volunteering, launched community initiatives, or shown exceptional kindness and empathy. Senior members of the royal family are also expected to attend.

Special Tributes and Broadcast Details

Prior to the main service, guests will be welcomed with music from young performers from the charity Future Talent. This will serve as a tribute to Katharine, the Duchess of Kent, who co-founded the charity to support musically-gifted children from disadvantaged backgrounds and passed away in September at the age of 92.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, the Royal Horticultural Society has collaborated with its ambassadors and school children to create wreaths for display inside the Abbey. A special festive display will also be installed outside the venue by horticulturist Jamie Butterworth, highlighting the significance of nature.

The main service will be recorded and broadcast at a later date on ITV1 and ITVX. In a wonderful extension of the event's spirit, 15 other community carol services inspired by the Abbey event will be held around the UK.
