Georgia Harrison made Prince William 'crack up' with MBE curtsy blunder
Georgia Harrison's MBE curtsy makes Prince William laugh

Former Love Island contestant Georgia Harrison has shared the hilarious moment she made the Prince of Wales laugh out loud during her MBE investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle.

A Pregnant Pause and a Royal Chuckle

The 31-year-old reality TV star, who was honoured for her campaigning work against revenge pornography and cyber crime, was eight-and-a-half months pregnant when she received the award from Prince William earlier this year. In an interview with OK Magazine, Harrison disclosed that her attempt at a curtsy nearly ended in disaster, much to the amusement of the future King.

"I'm such a fan, so when I found out it was William giving me the MBE, I was so happy," she said. "But I ended up doing an over-the-top theatrical curtsy, and almost hit the deck. I was this huge pregnant person in heels, arms spread-eagled and trying not to topple over. William cracked up and my family couldn't believe it."

Campaigning Work Recognised by the Prince

Harrison, who made history as the first Love Island contestant to receive such an honour, also spoke about her conversation with Prince William regarding her advocacy. She expressed shock at how informed he was about her experiences.

"I was shocked because he'd followed a lot of my experiences and said how brave I was," she revealed. "To speak to one of the most important people on Earth about changing the world is an experience I'll never forget."

The star had previously hinted at the incident on social media in December 2025, posting about the memorable day and joking that she "curtseyed a little too hard and almost hit the deck." She also expressed her delight that her unborn child had technically met the Prince of Wales.

From Reality TV to Reforming the Law

Georgia Harrison's path to an MBE began after a traumatic personal experience. Her ex-partner, TV personality Stephen Bear, was convicted and sentenced to 21 months in prison (later reduced to 11) for disclosing private sexual photographs and films without her consent. Bear was also ordered to pay Harrison over £200,000 for breach of privacy.

This injustice propelled Harrison into the public eye as a determined campaigner for legal changes concerning revenge porn and online safety. Her efforts have been widely recognised as instrumental in raising awareness and pushing for stricter penalties for such crimes.

On a personal note, Harrison welcomed her first child, a daughter named Sahara Jean Stacey, on October 30, 2025, just weeks after the Windsor Castle ceremony. She shares the child with her partner, Jack Stacey. Reflecting on the MBE day, she humorously added to OK Magazine that she was trying not to go into labour at the castle, though "part of me sort of wanted to, just for the drama of it."
