The BBC has officially outlined its television plans for this year's poignant Remembrance Sunday service, with comprehensive live coverage set to emanate from the Cenotaph in central London. This follows the broadcaster's annual Festival of Remembrance, which aired on Saturday evening.
What time is the Remembrance Sunday service on BBC TV?
The national broadcaster's coverage is scheduled to commence at 10:15 AM on Sunday, November 7, 2025. The broadcast will continue through the key commemorative events, concluding at approximately 12:40 PM. Viewers can also expect live coverage from other major news outlets, including Sky News.
Presenting duties for this solemn occasion will be handled by the experienced duo of Sophie Raworth and Petroc Trelawny. They will guide audiences through the proceedings from London as the nation unites in reflection.
The Order of Service and Royal Participation
The ceremony will see Senior Members of The Royal Family leading the nation in the Remembrance Sunday commemorations. They will be joined by the country's leading politicians, representatives from the armed forces, Commonwealth nations, and various faith communities.
The centrepiece of the morning will be the two-minute silence at 11:00 AM, a moment for the entire country to pause and remember. This will be part of the National Service of Remembrance.
The proceedings will continue with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Cenotaph, honouring all those who have died in conflict. This will be followed by a historic march-past featuring nearly 10,000 veterans, an event organised by The Royal British Legion.
Accessibility and Alternative Viewing Options
In a move to ensure the service is available to all, the BBC will provide several viewing options. Accessible commentary and an uninterrupted, commentary-free feed will be available on BBC iPlayer. A version with British Sign Language (BSL) will also be accessible via the Red Button and on iPlayer.
For those away from a television screen, the event will be covered live on BBC Radio 4 and BBC Radio 5 Live.
The coverage this year marks a change in commentators, as veteran broadcaster David Dimbleby confirmed he has stepped down from the role. Dimbleby stated, "After over a quarter of a century as the commentator on Remembrance Sunday I have decided that the time has come to step down. It has been an honour and a privilege to be part of this annual ceremony commemorating our veterans and their sacrifice."
