EastEnders: Kat vows revenge as Max hides Zoe secret

Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) has issued a dark threat in EastEnders, vowing to kill whoever left her beloved Zoe (Michelle Ryan) to die—unaware that the culprit, Max Branning (Jake Wood), is standing right in front of her. The BBC One soap aired a devastating week that saw the Slaters discover Zoe's death, while Max squirmed, knowing he'd be on borrowed time if Kat ever uncovered the truth.

Penny Branning (Kitty Castledine) discovered that Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) had found out she's unsure who the father of her newborn baby is—and that Priya is in a similar dilemma herself, with her unborn child the product of an affair with Max. Baby Ethan was named, solving one of the big mysteries of the flash-forward episode transmitted earlier in the year. Oscar (Pierre Counihan-Moullier) was forced to end things with Josh Goodwin (Joshua Vaughn) out of loyalty to dad Max, who fears his role in leaving Zoe to die could come out if his son continues to hang around the dearly departed show legend's children.

Kat turns to Max for help

In new spoilers for Monday, September 21, completely unaware of what he did, Kat turns to Max for help in locating the man responsible for leaving Zoe to die. Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) talks to Denise Fox (Diane Parish), who decides to speak to grieving Kat in a bid to get through to her. The Slaters decide to plant a tree in memory of Zoe—and Kat's absence is felt.

Elsewhere, Penny and Vinny (Shiv Jalota) return home to the Square with baby Ethan, but they're interrupted when Vinny is called in to bail out Suki (Balvinder Sopal), who has been arrested. The shocks keep coming as, when he arrives at the station, he finds sister Ash (Sakira Vel) in custody for drunk and disorderly behaviour.

Suki's arrest and Ash's surprise

Ash reveals she's intent on staying for a few weeks, which takes Vinny and Penny by surprise. Suki doesn't want to get in touch with Ash, but Eve (Heather Peace) encourages her to reconsider. Suki ultimately changes her mind—but she's unaware that Ash has overheard everything.

Priya and Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) head to the hospital for a scan. They discuss sharing their baby news with the family, unaware that Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) was on the Tube with them—and she heard everything. Will she put two and two together and work out that Priya's child is actually Max's? Either way, she orders Priya to leave the Square.

Amy's frustration and Craig's suspension

Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) is frustrated as Craig Ingram (Matthew James Bailey) doesn't answer her messages. Eventually, Craig gets in touch, blaming work for his lack of response. Jack (Scott Maslen) reveals to Denise that Craig has been suspended. Will Amy learn the truth?

EastEnders airs these scenes Monday September 21 at 7:30pm on BBC One, or streams from 6am on BBC iPlayer.
