Two individuals have been stabbed in Golders Green, north London, in an attack that authorities believe was motivated by anti-Semitism. The incident occurred on Golders Green Road, where a man armed with a knife reportedly targeted Jewish members of the public.
Emergency Response and Arrest
Shomrim, a Jewish volunteer security force, responded swiftly to the scene. According to their statement, the suspect was seen running along the road with a knife, attempting to stab Jewish people. Shomrim members detained the individual, and police arrived shortly after, deploying a Taser. The suspect is now in custody.
The two victims, who sustained stab wounds, are receiving medical treatment from Hatzola, a Jewish emergency medical service. Their conditions have not been disclosed.
Community Reaction
The Community Security Trust (CST) confirmed the knife attack and urged anyone with information to contact the police or Shomrim. The CST is working closely with law enforcement to ensure community safety.
This incident follows the vandalism of an October 7 memorial wall in Golders Green on Monday. Counter-terror police are investigating an arson attempt at the wall, where a man dressed in black set fire to part of the memorial before fleeing. The wall honors victims of the October 7 attack in Israel and Iranian protesters.
Authorities are treating both events with the utmost seriousness, and an investigation is ongoing.
