Tributes have been flooding in for a 15-year-old boy who was tragically killed by a falling tree in a Staffordshire park on Saturday evening. Brodan Dubickas, a Year 10 pupil at Sir Graham Balfour School, was pronounced dead at the scene in Holmcroft Park around 7.30pm despite the efforts of emergency services.
Emergency Response
Police, paramedics, and an air ambulance were called to Holmcroft Park, off Holmcroft Road, at approximately 6.30pm on Saturday. West Midlands Ambulance Service and Staffordshire Police attended, but the teenager could not be saved. A police cordon and a blue tent remained in place at the park on Sunday.
Tributes from Friends and Family
Friends have paid emotional tributes on social media. One friend shared a photograph of Brodan playing pool, describing him as a "bright, nice lad with a bright future" and saying he felt "privileged to be able to call him a friend." The friend added, "Fly high brother, we will play pool together again some day."
School Remembers a 'Special Young Man'
Tillington Manor Primary School, where Brodan was a former pupil, confirmed his death in a heartfelt social media post. The school stated: "It is with great sadness and a heavy heart to share the devastating news that Brodan Dubickas, a former pupil of Tillington Manor and now a year 10 student at Sir Graham Balfour School, tragically lost his life in an accident at Holmcroft Park."
The school praised Brodan as "a truly special young man; kind-hearted, respectful and full of warmth." They added: "He approached school life with curiosity and determination, and his gentle nature and positive spirit left a lasting impression on both staff and pupils alike." The school expressed deep sadness over the loss of a life with so much promise and offered condolences to his family, friends, and the wider community.
Football and Pool Community in Mourning
Brodan was an active member of his local sports community. He played for the U16s Stafford Falcons FC and was also a keen football referee. Additionally, he played pool for Staffs Bull 'A' at the Stafford Institute. A Macclesfield FC U13s tournament held a minute's silence in his memory on Sunday.

Tillington Manor Primary School has arranged for support services to be available at the school on Tuesday for any pupils who may be affected by the tragic event. The school urged parents to reach out if their children need additional support during this difficult time.
