Big Brother's Alex Sibley Wins Council Seat for Reform UK

Former Big Brother star Alex Sibley has been elected as a Reform UK councillor in the local elections. The 47-year-old appeared on the third season of the reality show in 2002 alongside Jade Goody, Alison Hammond, Adele Roberts, and winner Kate Lawler.

From Reality TV to Politics

After his stint on Big Brother, Sibley pursued a career in modeling and later announced his political ambitions on Instagram just days before the polls opened. He ran for a seat representing Emerson Park in Havering, London, under the Reform UK party led by Nigel Farage.

Election Victory

Results confirmed that Sibley secured the second-highest number of votes in Havering with 1,255, trailing only fellow Reform candidate David Johnson who received 1,306 votes. Sharing the news on Instagram, Sibley wrote: 'It’s Official. 7th May 2026. With a combined age of 126 years old and no degree from Oxford or Cambridge in Politics, we are Emerson Park candidates for Havering and Reform UK.'

Life After Big Brother

Sibley originally finished third on Big Brother behind Johnny Regan and Kate Lawler. He continued making TV appearances, including work on Nickelodeon and Celebrity Blind Date. However, his career took a downturn after a devastating car crash. Speaking to The Sun in 2020, he revealed: 'A major thing happened in my life. A guy ran into the side of my car and died from his injuries. I lost my kids TV programme. I had a live show on Nickelodeon, and I was about to do panto.' He added that the incident led him to resent Big Brother, as it had been his stepping stone to other opportunities. 'I was making a lot of money. The first year I made nearly £250,000 which is insane,' he said.
