Barnet residents will go to the polls on May 7 alongside those in the rest of London's 32 boroughs to vote for their local councillors. The result of the local election will determine which party will lead Barnet Council for the next four years. The North London authority is currently run by Labour, which holds 40 out of the 63 councillor seats. There are also 19 Conservatives, two independent councillors, and two vacancies where councillors have stepped down.
