Trump Claims Oil Ships Moving Out of Strait of Hormuz
Trump: Oil Ships Moving Out of Strait of Hormuz

In a post to Truth Social, US President Donald Trump has claimed that ships carrying oil are “starting to move” out of the Strait of Hormuz, even though many shippers say the arrangement to cross the waterway remains unclear and consider it too risky for ships to commence transit again.

Trump's Statement on Social Media

Trump wrote: “Ships are starting to move, many loaded up with Oil, out of the Strait of Hormuz. They are going along the Southern 'Highway,' which is totally safe, secure, and pristine. There are other areas of travel, also!!!”

Shippers Remain Cautious

Despite Trump's claims, shipping companies and insurers are not yet convinced that the strait is safe for passage. They feel that a framework peace deal with Iran and the clearance of remaining mines would be necessary to ensure safety.
