Family of Missing Australian Man Reece Brownlie Grows Concerned
The family of an Australian man who has not been in contact for weeks is growing increasingly concerned as they remain unaware of his last whereabouts. Reece Brownlie, 35, from Perth, Western Australia, was visiting London on holiday. He was scheduled to fly back to Perth on April 21, but according to his sister Tamara, he missed his flight. His family is deeply worried, as they typically hear from Reece at least every other day.
Reece is described as 6 ft 3 inches tall, slim, fair, balding, with greenish eyes, and a slim build. The family is unsure where Reece was staying in London but believes it was in central London.
On April 29, Tamara wrote on Facebook: “We are trying to locate my brother Reece, who was last known to be in London and was last in contact with my mum on Tuesday, 21st April. We have contacted the London Met Police, Missing People charity group, and filed a report with Australian Police for a missing person. If you see him, please let him know his family is very worried. If you have seen him, please contact me. He was supposed to board a flight back to Australia last Tuesday and never made it. Not being in contact with his family is very unusual. He always contacts mum or me every few days, and it has now been over a week.”
She added: “It’s very out of character for him not to be in contact. We are a close family, and he would normally speak every other day with my mum at a minimum via text message. The last message was received last Tuesday, saying he had missed his flight.”
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Enquiries are ongoing to find Reece Brownlie, a 35-year-old Australian national missing in London. We received a report on Saturday, 25 April. Following further enquiries and conversations with Reece’s family, we began a missing persons investigation on Sunday, 3 May. Reece was last in contact with his family on Monday, 20 April, having traveled to London some weeks before. He was believed to be staying in central London. We have issued an appeal across our social media channels and ask anyone with information to contact police on 101, quoting reference 1648/25APR.”
