British Transport Police (BTP) have launched an investigation after a woman was repeatedly sexually assaulted at a Tube station in West London. The incident occurred in the subway leading to Hanger Lane station in Ealing on Sunday, June 21.
Details of the attack
The perpetrator approached the victim at around 2.30pm and forcibly prevented her from escaping as he subjected her to the assaults. He then ran into the Central line station while laughing and has not yet been traced.
BTP is now releasing CCTV footage of a man they believe may have information that could assist their ongoing investigation. The man is described as Indian or South Asian, in his mid-to-late 20s, about 5ft 7in, and was wearing a light-blue shirt, light-coloured trousers, and sunglasses.
Appeal for information
Anyone who recognises the man is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 491 of 22 June. Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
In a separate incident, BTP is also appealing for information after a woman was upskirted on the Northern line in South London. A man appeared to take photos up the victim's skirt at around 3.20pm on Saturday, June 20, as the service travelled through the Clapham Common area.
