Tragic House Fire in East London Claims Two Lives
The victims of a devastating house fire in East London have been officially identified by authorities. The tragic incident occurred at a residential address on Forest Road in Walthamstow, where emergency services responded to multiple distress calls on the evening of Sunday, 21 April 2024.
Emergency Response and Fatal Discovery
Police were alerted to the blaze at approximately 10:24pm, with officers arriving alongside colleagues from the London Fire Brigade. Despite the rapid response, firefighters discovered two men deceased inside the property. The victims have now been named as Mohammed Djellal, aged 24, and Faouzi Bouchadoe, aged 35.
The London Fire Brigade deployed around forty firefighters to combat the intense flames, following approximately nine separate reports of the fire. The two-storey end-of-terraced house was completely destroyed by the blaze, with half of the roof suffering significant fire damage.
Suspect Extradited and Charged with Multiple Offenses
In a significant development, a suspect has been charged in connection with the fatal fire. Fouad Boudra, 25, was arrested in France earlier this year and extradited to the United Kingdom on April 2. His extradition followed an international arrest warrant issued by a judge on 27 August of the previous year.
Boudra now faces serious criminal charges, including:
- Two counts of murder
- Two counts of manslaughter
- Causing grievous bodily harm with intent to a third individual
- Arson with intent to endanger life
The accused is scheduled to appear at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, April 4, where formal proceedings will commence.

A spokesperson for the London Fire Brigade provided a detailed account of the incident, stating that firefighters discovered the two victims inside the property. London Ambulance Service crews subsequently pronounced both individuals dead at the scene.
