Central London Pedestrian Crash Leaves Woman in Critical Condition
A woman in her 30s is fighting for her life following a severe car crash that occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning in Central London. The incident, which took place on Argyll Street in the upscale Mayfair district, has resulted in multiple injuries and a significant police investigation.
Details of the Early Morning Collision
At approximately 4:30 AM on April 19, emergency services received reports of a vehicle colliding with pedestrians outside the Inca Restaurant and Bar on Argyll Street. The location, known for its vibrant nightlife, was still active at the time of the crash, with several venues in the vicinity remaining open.
The impact left three individuals injured. The most critically affected is a woman in her 30s, who was rushed to a hospital and remains in a life-threatening condition. Additionally, a man in his 50s sustained what are described as life-changing injuries and was also hospitalized. A third victim, another woman in her 30s, received treatment for minor injuries and has since been discharged.
Driver Arrested on Serious Charges
In a swift response, law enforcement officers arrested the driver at the scene. The suspect, a 29-year-old woman, faces multiple serious allegations, including attempted murder, grievous bodily harm (GBH), dangerous driving, and drink driving. She was taken into custody, where she remains as the investigation progresses.
Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell, from Specialist Crime South, emphasized the gravity of the situation. "Our thoughts are with those injured and their loved ones as we continue our enquiries," she stated. "This incident occurred during a time when the area was still bustling, and we believe numerous witnesses may have observed the events. We urge anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to come forward immediately."

Authorities are actively seeking witnesses to piece together the circumstances leading to the crash. DCI Foxwell highlighted the importance of public assistance, noting that details from bystanders could prove crucial for the investigation.
