Vogue Williams Slams Anthony Kiedis for Age-Gap Dating

Vogue Williams has expressed her disappointment in Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis for his history of dating much younger women, including a 19-year-old when he was 50. The 40-year-old podcaster shared her views on the episode of My Therapist Ghosted Me, calling out the 63-year-old rock star despite his not breaking any laws.

Vogue's Criticism on the Podcast

On the podcast, Vogue said: 'Do you know who else I find really disappointing, hasn’t broken the law, but really disappointing cause I really like the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Anthony Kiedis.' She reflected on his relationships, exclaiming: 'Dude, what are you talking about?'

Her co-host Joanne McNally added: 'I just accept now that most men are drawn to significantly younger women. That’s all I’m gonna say. It is what it is. I don’t think there’s any getting away from it. We judge it, but it’s not going away, it’s not going to change.'

Age-Gap Relationships in the Spotlight

Vogue continued to express confusion over large age gaps, wondering what she would talk to a 16-year-old about: 'How was school? Did you have fun in school with your friends? Did you get your new pencil case? It’s September coming up…'

Joanne defended the trend, noting: 'It’s rock stars like him that can get away with it because no 19-year-old wants to be going out with some ale lad who’s driving a Toyota Corolla around town, d’you know what I mean? They want to be going out with a millionaire rock star who’s going to treat them like a princess and they’re going to have a gorgeous life and he’s cool. He’s in the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.'

Vogue shared that her husband Spencer Matthews 'loves' the band, but when she told him about Anthony’s relationship history, he said: 'Ugh, just because you can doesn’t mean you should.'

Kiedis's Relationship History

Kiedis has been known for large age-gap relationships. In 2013, when he was 50, he dated Australian model Helena Vestergaard, who was 19 at the time. They broke up after almost two years, and Kiedis revealed how emotionally wrecked he was by the split.

The heartbreak fueled lyrics on the Red Hot Chili Peppers' album The Getaway. He told BBC Radio: 'Lyrically, I’m embarrassed to say, a 2-year relationship that completely fell apart like a nuclear bomb, just left me feeling pretty raw and available to the emotional universe for writing. So even though the relationship was a bit of a disaster, I feel that in some way, I did get something out of it, which was about half the songs on this record.'

Currently, Kiedis is dating 30-year-old Eileen Kelly, who is half his age. They started dating in late 2025, and in April, Kelly wrote an essay for Vogue discussing why she chose an older man. She said: 'It’s my first time dating someone significantly older, and sometimes I joke with friends that I’ve been missing out my whole life.' She added that they met at a birthday party and got talking, and noted: 'My much older boyfriend seems genuinely excited to be with me—not like he’s biding his time before he can swipe for someone better.'

Other High-Profile Age-Gap Couples

Kiedis is not alone in having a high-profile age-gap relationship. Cher, 80, has a 40-year age gap with her boyfriend Alexandar, 39. Holland Taylor, 82, has been with Sarah Paulson, 50, for years. Other examples include Aaron Taylor-Johnson, 35, and his wife Sam Taylor-Johnson, 58, and Jeff Goldblum, 73, with his wife Emilie Livingstone, 42.
