Tributes have been paid to Clara Bale, a 23-year-old woman found dead in a flat in Islington, as a murder investigation continues. Police were called to Bollinder Place on Thursday, August 6, following concerns for a woman's welfare. Clara was found unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene; her family have been informed.
Six arrested and released on bail
Four women aged 20, 21, 23, and 26, and two men aged 21 and 24, have been arrested on suspicion of murder. All six have been released on bail while enquiries continue. Detective Chief Inspector Paul Waller, leading the investigation, said officers are "making good progress" in establishing the events leading up to Clara's death.
Clara's family described her as "a brilliant young woman filled with dreams" and "a bright light" whose loss has left "an immeasurable void" in their lives. In a tribute issued through the Metropolitan Police, they said: "She embodied hope, resilience and love. Her inspiring aura was felt in every room she entered and in every space she had yet to step into. A beloved friend, daughter and sister who cherished life above all else."
Police appeal for witnesses
DCI Waller said: "Our thoughts remain with Clara's family and loved ones following her tragic death. The police investigation is ongoing and we are making good progress in establishing the events leading up to Clara's death, including speaking to a number of witnesses."
He urged anyone with information, "no matter how minor it may seem," to come forward. "Every piece of information helps with our investigation," he added.
