Sam's Mental Health Spirals in Coronation Street Next Week

Sam Blakeman's mental health continues to spiral in Coronation Street next week, as the teen struggles to differentiate between reality and his own fears. The character, played by Jude Riordan, has been under immense pressure after being manipulated by Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon). Sam was the first to discover Megan's relationship with Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale) and was threatened into silence. To cope with school stress, Sam began taking ADHD medication without a prescription, which only worsened his condition. His stress levels led to a collapse in the street and a hospital visit. Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) later uncovered the truth about Megan's actions.

Sam's Paranoia and Hallucinations

Even after the Driscoll family learned of Megan, Sam's troubles persist. He struggles to trust anyone and faces Will's anger for exposing the relationship. His paranoia has escalated, leading to auditory and visual hallucinations. Recently, Sam fled through Weatherfield, believing Will was chasing him, only to find no one behind him. In upcoming episodes, Sam is rattled at school when Will glares at him. Later, as Sam heads to the Red Rec, Will threatens him, causing Sam to drop and smash his telescope in terror. He then runs for his life.

Family Concerns and Growing Isolation

Later in the week, Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) and Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) discuss Sam's anxiety and consider counselling. Sam overhears but misinterprets their conversation, believing they don't trust him. He feels entirely alone. Producer Kate Brooks confirmed that Sam's ordeal will continue over the next few weeks, exploring the damage from Megan's manipulation and the lack of belief in his claims. 'We're going to tell a big mental health story with Sam, and he's going to really struggle,' Brooks said. 'It's about his family realizing, hopefully before it's too late, that he's in desperate need of help.'
