EastEnders crew member recovering after 11-storey fall

A crew member from the popular BBC soap EastEnders is showing remarkable progress after surviving a terrifying fall from an 11-storey building in Colombia over the Christmas period.

Miracle Survival After Horrific Accident

The man, named Connor, who works as an electrician on the set of the long-running show, fell from a roof and spent nine days in a coma. The incident, which occurred during the festive season, required multiple life-saving surgeries.

His mother, Denise, who flew out to be at his bedside, has described his survival as nothing short of a "miracle". The family faced immense uncertainty over insurance payouts, prompting colleagues to rally around for support.

Cast Rally With GoFundMe Support

On Tuesday, 6th January 2026, actor Jake Wood, who plays Max Branning, shared a link to a GoFundMe page set up for Connor. The initial target was £26,000 to cover mounting medical costs and help facilitate his return home to the UK.

The campaign saw an incredible response, swiftly surpassing its goal. As of the latest update, the fundraiser has amassed over £30,000 from hundreds of donors, including numerous members of the EastEnders cast.

Notable contributions listed on the page include £300 from Scott Maslen (Jack Branning), and £200 each from Jake Wood and Jacqueline Jossa (Lauren Branning). A host of other well-known actors from the show, including Jessie Wallace, Gillian Taylforth, and Adam Woodyatt, also donated £100 each.

Positive Updates on a Long Road to Recovery

Victoria Dean, the organiser of the fundraiser, provided a heartening update on Wednesday, 7th January 2026. She confirmed that Connor has been moved out of intensive care and is no longer reliant on sedation or mechanical oxygen support.

"He has been sitting up in bed and is able to eat soft foods," Victoria wrote. "He is aware of the GoFundMe and is overwhelmed by everyone's love and support. He is alert and in good spirits, which is remarkable considering his injuries."

Despite this positive progress, Connor faces further medical procedures. He is still awaiting necessary surgeries for his fractures, and the family is working with the hospital on a care plan that will eventually allow him to fly back to the United Kingdom.

In her message, Victoria extended thanks for the public's support during this "immensely difficult and stressful time," signing off on behalf of Denise and the family.
