EastEnders has confirmed that Zoe Slater will die in upcoming scenes, following a head injury sustained earlier in the week. The news comes as new spoilers for Thursday, September 10 reveal the emotional fallout from Max Branning and Cindy Beale's disastrous wedding day.
Wedding day chaos leaves Cindy devastated
New bride Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) was left in despair after her wedding to Max Branning (Jake Wood) ended in disaster. Max ended their marriage just hours after they exchanged vows, following a heart attack caused by the stress of ex Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) threatening to expose his secret affair with Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy).
After a close call in hospital, Max resolved to listen to his heart and ended things with Cindy, confessing his love to Linda instead. Cindy has since uncovered Max's affair with Priya, setting the stage for revenge.
Zoe's fate sealed after cab theft
Elsewhere, Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan) antagonised her loved ones after stealing Charlie's cab and refusing to apologise to Zack Hudson (James Farrar), who was attacked by the cab's owner at the Vic. The bang to the head Zoe sustained earlier in the week is thought to be the culprit behind her death.
In Thursday's episode, Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) encourages Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) to make amends with Zoe following their fight. Kat will find her daughter's lifeless body in the aftermath, raising the question of whether their final exchange will be one of anger or reconciliation.
