Detectives are appealing for information after a 60-year-old woman was found dead at her home in South Croydon. Nicole Beling was discovered at her property on Dittoncroft Close on July 17, following a missing person report made by a family member shortly after midnight.
Discovery and Initial Response
The Metropolitan Police classified Beling as a high-risk missing person, prompting officers to search the residence, where they made the tragic discovery. Her death is currently being treated as unexplained, with the cause still under investigation.
A 61-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and later released under investigation. He was re-arrested on August 1 and has now been bailed while enquiries continue.
Investigation and Appeal
The Met's Specialist Crime Command is leading the investigation and urging anyone with relevant information to step forward. Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell stated: "A formal murder investigation has not been launched at this time and we are keeping an open mind as to the circumstances surrounding Nicole’s sad death."
She added: "We want to hear from anyone who knew Nicole or may have information that could assist the investigation – and help us find answers for her family. My thoughts remain with Nicole’s family and loved ones."

Nicole's family are being supported by specialist officers, the force confirmed. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact police on 101, quoting CAD 1695/17AUG26, or to provide details anonymously via Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
