Christina Applegate's Health Crisis Sparks Concern Among Friends
Friends of actress Christina Applegate have voiced deep worries about her well-being, with sources indicating she "might not have a tomorrow" following a recent hospitalization. The 54-year-old star, best known for roles in Anchorman and Friends, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2021 and has been living with the condition for five years.
Hospitalization Details Remain Unclear
Applegate is believed to have been hospitalized in late March, though the specific reasons for her admission have not been disclosed. A source close to the situation told the Daily Mail, "With every setback, if we are being realistic, everyone has it in the back of their minds that they might not have a tomorrow with her." The source added that while Christina is in "rough shape," people are not assuming this is the end, stating, "Nobody is planning to be at a funeral. Granted, her disease will take her sooner than anyone would like it to be, but everyone has trust in her medical team and her will to live."
Applegate's Open Struggles with MS
Applegate has been candid about her challenges with multiple sclerosis, which forced her to step back from the spotlight. Earlier this year, she revealed she is mostly bed-bound and described her daily routine as focused on taking her 15-year-old daughter to school, saying, "I tell myself, 'Just get her there safely and get home so you can get back into bed.' And that's what I do." In 2024, she disclosed on a podcast that she has 30 lesions on her brain, with the largest behind her right eye causing significant pain.
Her diagnosis came while she was mid-production for the final season of the Netflix series Dead to Me, and she later recalled experiencing early symptoms during the pilot filming. Applegate has also spoken about emotional struggles, telling Jamie-Lynn Sigler on the MeSsy podcast in June 2024 that she "doesn't enjoy living."
Memoir and Public Statements
In March, Applegate released a memoir titled You With The Sad Eyes, detailing her life as a child star and personal hardships. A representative for Applegate commented to the Daily Mail, "I have no comment on whether she is in the hospital or what her medical treatments are. She's had a long history of complicated medical conditions that she has been refreshingly open about, as evidenced in her memoir and on her podcast." The entertainment community continues to monitor her condition closely, with many expressing support for the beloved actress during this difficult time.
