A 37-year-old man has been arrested following a stabbing at a residential property in Wood Green during the early hours of Tuesday, May 19. The incident occurred on High Road, where a man in his 20s was discovered with a single knife wound shortly after 4am. Emergency services, including paramedics and a trauma team from London's Air Ambulance, provided immediate treatment at the scene before transporting the victim to a major trauma centre. According to the Metropolitan Police, the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
Arrest and Investigation
Officers detained a 37-year-old suspect at the scene on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. He remains in police custody as investigations continue. The police have stated that the stabbing is being treated as an isolated incident, with no wider threat to the public. A cordon that blocked High Road in both directions between Arcadian Gardens and Lyndhurst Road has since been removed, allowing traffic to resume normally.

A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service detailed the response: "We were called at 4.03am today (19 May) to reports of a stabbing on High Road, Wood Green. We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car, an incident response officer and a clinical team manager. We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance. We treated a man for a stab wound and took him to a major trauma centre."
