West London teen arrested after fatal Kent stabbing

An 18-year-old man from West London has been arrested on suspicion of murder following a fatal stabbing at a home in Kent. The arrest came hours after police launched a murder investigation into the death of a 19-year-old man in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Emergency Response to Thorold Road Assault

Kent Police were called to an address on Thorold Road in Chatham shortly after 3am on Tuesday, December 2, following reports of an assault. Emergency crews, including paramedics, rushed to the scene where they found a teenager with multiple severe injuries.

Despite the efforts of medical personnel, the 19-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed, although formal identification and public naming are pending.

Two Suspects Now in Custody

The investigation moved quickly, with officers initially arresting a 32-year-old local man from Chatham soon after the incident. The second arrest, that of the 18-year-old from West London, followed yesterday evening.

Both suspects remain in police custody as detectives continue their enquiries. A police cordon remains in place on Thorold Road, though an adjacent alleyway has now reopened to the public.

Appeal for Witnesses and Footage

Kent Police are now making a direct appeal to the public for information that could assist the investigation. Detectives are urging any witnesses who have not yet spoken to officers to come forward immediately.

Investigators are particularly keen to obtain any video footage from the area. They have asked local residents to check private CCTV systems and motorists to review any dashcam recordings from around Thorold Road in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
