The 17-year-old victim of a fatal stabbing at a council building in Wembley has been identified as David Wynter, as a 15-year-old boy faces a murder charge. The attack occurred at Brent Civic Centre on Engineers Way, prompting a large emergency response.
Police called to stabbing at Brent Civic Centre
Officers were summoned to reports of a stabbing on Engineers Way at approximately 14:30 BST on Tuesday, 25 August. They arrived alongside the London Ambulance Service and discovered a teenage boy suffering from stab wounds. Despite the paramedics' efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The deceased has been named locally as David Wynter, although formal identification has not yet been completed. His next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specially trained officers, according to police statements.
Suspect arrested and charged
A 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder on the same day, Tuesday, 25 August. Following questioning, he was formally charged with murder on Thursday, 27 August. The teenager appeared before Willesden Magistrates' Court later that day.
He is scheduled to appear at the Old Bailey on Friday, 28 August, where the case will be heard in a higher court. The Metropolitan Police have not released further details about the suspect or the circumstances leading to the charge.
