Two sisters, aged 14 and 15, have gone missing from a small town in northern Germany within days of each other, prompting a police appeal. Loyza Stoianovych, 14, was last seen on August 11, and her sister Regina, 15, disappeared two days later from their group home in Güstrow. Officers have been unable to locate the teenagers, who are originally from Ukraine, and believe they may be together.
Police waited a week before issuing public appeal
The sisters are reportedly known to be frequent runaways, which is why police delayed a public appeal for a week. The delay has raised concerns, but authorities have now asked the public for help in finding them. Loyza was last seen at approximately 1:30 PM on August 11. She is 1.55 meters tall, slim, and has medium-length black hair. Regina disappeared at approximately 10:00 PM on August 13. She is 1.65 meters tall, has an average build, and also has medium-length black hair.
Possible destination: Berlin area
In a statement, police said: 'It cannot be ruled out that the two teenagers are traveling out of a sense of adventure and may be in the Berlin area.' This suggests the sisters might have deliberately left, possibly seeking excitement or independence. The investigation is ongoing, with officers checking possible sightings and reviewing CCTV footage.
Public assistance sought
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the sisters' whereabouts to come forward. The case has drawn attention due to the sisters' young ages and the short time between their disappearances. Local residents have been asked to check any properties or areas where the teenagers might seek shelter. The police have not released further details about the circumstances of their disappearance, but they continue to treat the case as a high priority.
