Police are appealing for the public's help to trace a man who absconded while on escorted leave from a care facility in Ilford. Balasankar Narayanan, 46, was last seen at 14:00hrs on Thursday, 3 September when he ran off from staff in South Park.
While our investigation to locate Balasankar continues, we are appealing to the public to help locate him, the Metropolitan Police said in a statement.
Description and last known whereabouts
Balasankar has shaved hair, and was wearing a light green t-shirt, grey/black shorts, black socks with red stripes, and grey shoes. Police suspect that he could be sighted in East, Central or West London.
The appeal was issued on 8 September, five days after he was last seen. Officers have not indicated any known destination or reason for leaving the care facility.

Anyone who sees Balasankar is urged to call 999 immediately, quoting CAD 4956/3Sep. The police have not disclosed further details about the care facility or the circumstances of the escorted leave.
The public is reminded not to approach him but to contact emergency services right away. The investigation to locate Balasankar continues.
