Police are appealing for information after a man was stabbed at a supermarket in Croydon this morning (September 21). Emergency services were called to Beulah Hill, in Upper Norwood, at around 10.45am following reports of the attack.
Paramedics treated a man in his mid-30s near the junction of Crown Lane before rushing him to a major trauma centre. His injuries have since been deemed non-life-threatening nor life-changing, the Metropolitan Police said in a statement this afternoon.
Investigation underway, no arrests yet
Officers are yet to make an arrest but are "working at pace to identify a suspect", the force continued. Witnesses are urged to come forward as soon as possible to help in the ongoing investigation.
The London Ambulance Service sent several resources to the scene. A spokesperson said: "We were called at 10:56am today (21 September) to reports of a stabbing on the junction of Crown Lane and Beulah Hill, SE27."
Ambulance response and appeal for information
"We sent an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car and an incident response officer. We treated a patient at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre as a priority," the spokesperson added.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting 2418/21SEP. The investigation is ongoing, and police are working to identify the suspect as they continue to appeal for witnesses to come forward.
