Tragedy Strikes in Early Morning Leominster Crash
A man has died and two others have sustained serious injuries after a bin lorry crashed into a building in Herefordshire. The incident occurred in the town of Leominster at approximately 6.40am on Tuesday 11 November 2025.
Emergency Services Scramble to the Scene
West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed it received multiple 999 calls at around 6.45am reporting that a refuse lorry had collided with a property. Upon arrival, crews discovered a significant road traffic collision with three individuals trapped inside the vehicle.
The male passenger, who was in his 60s, was confirmed deceased at the scene. The driver and a second passenger were seriously injured and required extraction by emergency teams, who worked rapidly together due to structural damage to the building.
Both survivors were airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for further emergency care.
Ongoing Disruption and Official Response
Superintendent Helen Wain of West Mercia Police stated that a cordon remains in place while the fire service and local authorities work to make the building safe. Roads surrounding the area are closed and are expected to remain closed for some time.
The building, which was initially thought to be a house, was empty at the time of the incident, and no one else was injured.
Herefordshire Council issued a statement thanking the emergency services for their swift response and confirming they are working with partners to assess the situation.
On behalf of all agencies involved, Superintendent Wain expressed her thoughts and condolences to those involved and the families affected by the tragic incident.
