A man in his 30s remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries following a serious assault in Stratford. The attack happened on Penny Brookes Street on Saturday, August 22, and police were alerted at 9.15pm. The suspects had fled before officers arrived.
The Metropolitan Police, alongside London Ambulance Service paramedics, found the victim with severe injuries. He was taken to hospital, where he has been fighting for his life for the past week. No arrests have been made so far, and the investigation is ongoing.
Police appeal for public help
On Saturday, August 29, the Met Police issued a public appeal for help in identifying the attackers. Detective Sergeant Justina Rackauskaite, who is leading the investigation, said: “A man remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries following this assault, and our investigation is progressing at pace to establish the circumstances leading up to this incident.”
She added: “We have conducted a range of enquiries and are now appealing for the public's help. We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who was in the Penny Brookes Street area that evening and may have seen something.”
Footage and information sought
Detective Sergeant Rackauskaite urged anyone with CCTV, doorbell camera, or dashcam footage from the area to come forward. “Every piece of information helps with our investigation,” she said.
Police are asking anyone with information to call 101, quoting reference CAD 3842/28AUG. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their website at crimestoppers-uk.org.
The investigation is progressing, and police have confirmed that the suspects are believed to be multiple individuals. Officers are continuing to conduct enquiries in the area and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
