Juan Martez-Ortiz, 46, of Sevenoaks Road, Borough Green, has been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing incident in the village. The charge relates to an incident on Thursday, October 8, when Kent Police responded to a domestic disturbance at a property on Sevenoaks Road at approximately 7:40am.
Upon arrival, officers discovered two men with injuries consistent with stab wounds. A woman was also found to have sustained injuries to her arm and face. One of the men is understood to have suffered life-changing injuries as a result of the attack.
Arrest and charges
Following the incident, Kent Police launched an investigation and later arrested a suspect in London on the same day. Martez-Ortiz, a Dominican national, was subsequently charged with attempted murder. In addition, he faces charges of two counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, possession of a knife, aggravated burglary, and stalking.
Martez-Ortiz was remanded in custody and appeared before Maidstone Crown Court on Saturday, October 10, to face the charges. The court proceedings are ongoing.
