Police Dogs Deployed to Warlingham Green After Violent Altercation

A 22-year-old man from Croydon has been arrested following a serious incident in Warlingham on Tuesday evening, November 25. Police were called to a report of a large fight near Warlingham Green at 9.40pm, prompting a significant response from officers and police dogs.

Stabbing Victim Treated for Non-Life-Threatening Injuries

Upon arrival at the scene on Limpsfield Road, officers discovered a victim who had been stabbed. The individual was promptly treated in hospital overnight for injuries that were confirmed as not life-threatening. The victim has since been discharged from hospital and is now recovering at home.

Police Reassure Public and Continue Investigations

A police cordon remained in place throughout Wednesday, November 26, as forensic teams carried out detailed enquiries at the scene. Officers were stationed at the cordon on Warlingham Green, and a continued police presence is expected in the area.

The arrested man is being held on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, possession of a knife or bladed article in a public place, and possession of a controlled class B drug.

Lyndsey Whatley, Borough Commander for Tandridge, sought to reassure local residents, stating: "We understand that this would have been extremely distressing for anyone who witnessed the incident. We are not looking for anyone else in relation to this incident, and we do not believe there is any risk to the wider public."
