A 21-year-old man is fighting for his life after a knife attack in west London. Police were called to the Yeading Lane estate in Northolt just before 7.30pm on Monday, 24 August. Four men were injured, with two still in hospital. The 21-year-old victim remains on the critical list.
Officers responded to reports of a stabbing at 19:24hrs, with the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance also attending. Police believe a number of people were injured during an altercation. A 26-year-old man was also taken to hospital with stab injuries, but his condition has been assessed as neither life-threatening nor life-changing.
Police and ambulance response
A police spokesperson said: 'Police were called to Yeading Lane, Northolt at 19:24hrs on Monday, 24 August following reports of a stabbing. Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance. While enquiries are in their early stages, it’s believed a number of people were injured during an altercation.'
The London Ambulance Service added: 'We were called at 7.24pm today (August 24) to reports of a stabbing on Yeading Lane Estate, Northolt. We sent resources including ambulance crews, incident response officers, crews from our Tactical response unit and an advanced paramedic in a fast response car. We also dispatched a trauma team in a car and by helicopter from London’s Air Ambulance.'
Paramedics treated four patients at the scene. Two were taken to a major trauma centre, while two with minor injuries were discharged at the scene.
Arrests and injuries
Officers arrested a 51-year-old man and a 16-year-old teenage boy on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm. Both have been taken into custody for questioning. During one of the arrests, an officer sustained a minor injury and was taken to hospital as a precaution.
Residents on the estate saw a police helicopter overhead. One local said: 'There was a helicopter above our homes it looked like an urgent search was going on. We locked our doors, who knows who could have been on the loose.'

Police have urged anyone with information to call 101 or to remain anonymous on 0800555111. The investigation is in its early stages, and the 21-year-old man remains in a life-threatening condition in hospital.
