According to police reports, she traveled by bus from Wivenhoe to Brightlingsea, a journey lasting approximately 30 minutes. CCTV footage released by authorities shows a person believed to be Ms. Barreto jumping over a fence into a boatyard shortly after midnight on 4 March.
Essex Police have stated that they are exploring the possibility that Ms. Barreto may have taken a boat from a pontoon in Brightlingsea. A boat matching this description was later found adrift in the water near Bradwell-on-Sea.
