A murder investigation has been launched in North London after a young man was fatally stabbed. Police were called at around 8:50 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, to reports of a large disturbance on Ashmore Road in Kilburn.
Police and Ambulance Response
Officers attended the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service. A man, believed to be in his 20s, was treated for a stab wound but was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
Investigation Underway
The investigation has been taken over by homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command. No arrests have been made at this time, and enquiries are ongoing.
Detective Chief Superintendent Christina Jessah, who leads policing in the area, said: “My thoughts remain with the family of the man who has sadly lost his life overnight. Homicide detectives are investigating this tragic case. I would urge anyone who has information about what happened or video footage that could assist the investigation to please get in touch with police.”
She added: “I know the concerns that the community will have after this awful incident. There will be a significantly increased police presence in the area while enquiries continue, and I would ask that anyone who has concerns – or has information that could assist detectives – to speak to my officers.”
