A 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after an A&E doctor was stabbed at a hospital in West London. The incident occurred at Hillingdon Hospital in the early hours of Tuesday, May 26, prompting a police investigation into the circumstances surrounding the knife attack.
Incident Details
Police officers who were at the hospital attending to another matter were alerted to the stabbing and swiftly apprehended the suspect. The 27-year-old was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and causing grievous bodily harm. The victim, a doctor aged in his 50s, received medical treatment for his injuries, which were assessed as neither life-threatening nor life-changing. Authorities believe the incident may be mental health-related.
Hospital Response
There were reports that a section of Hillingdon Hospital was temporarily closed while emergency services responded to the incident. However, the hospital is now fully operational and providing normal services.
