A cyclist is fighting for his life after a collision with a car in Croydon. The 39-year-old man was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition following the crash on Friday, July 10.
Crash details
Police were called at 12:05am to the junction of Scarbrook Road and Wandle Road, where they found the cyclist with serious injuries. Paramedics treated him at the scene before he was transported to hospital by the London Ambulance Service.
The driver of the car remained at the scene and is cooperating with officers from the Met's Serious Collision Investigation Unit. No arrests have been made.
Police statement
A Met spokesperson said: "At 12.05am on Friday, July 10, officers were called to reports of a collision involving a car and a cyclist at the junction of Scarbrook Road and Wandle Road, Croydon. The cyclist, aged 39, was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service. He remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries. His next-of-kin have been informed. The driver stopped at the scene and is assisting officers from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit with their enquiries."

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage to contact them on 101, quoting CAD 3789/10JUL26.
